Portree, Isle of Skye
Portree is a small harbor town on the east side of the Isle of Skye. It’s the largest town on the island, but it’s still an adorable, quaint fishing village. There are restaurants, hotels & B&B’s, shops and supermarkets along the Main Street. There’s also a visitor center where you can get maps and information about the attractions on Skye.
We drove into Portree and found a parking lot by the Somerled Square War Memorial. It was a good central spot to park so we could walk around the town & explore the shops. We made our way up the hill to a restaurant called Dulse & Brose. From there, up hill on the north side of Portree you have the most incredible view of the iconic colorful buildings of downtown Portree. It was the perfect spot to stop for lunch.
Dulse & Brose focuses their menu on seasonal & locally sourced ingredients - so everything tastes fresh and feels authentic. The restaurant is quiet & warm and has a homey vibe to it. It’s the perfect atmosphere when you’re coming in from a chilly Scottish day. We had some local beers & soup with fresh baked bread for lunch and enjoyed a cup of coffee before heading back out for more adventures.
Adventure Always.
