I'm Just a Nerd Trying to See The World One Adventure at a Time...

Bath

Bath

After spending a few days in London, it was time to pick up our rental car and hit the road.  Our first stop on our U.K. RoadTrip was Bath.  I really didn't know what to expect with a city like Bath, but I hoped it would be a good first night outside of London.  I was not disappointed - Bath exceeded any expectations I could have had.

The drive from London to Bath was super easy - mostly large highways that are easy to navigate and a piece of cake for those of us that aren't used to driving on the left side of the road.

We were staying the night at a B&B called Hawkins of Bath.  The owner and operator of the B&B was kind enough to drop us off in town - we ended up near the Pulteney Bridge and we walked the last couple of blocks through the city to get to Sotto Sotto for dinner.

The Pulteney Bridge was built in 1774 and it's unique because it has shops built into it on both sides of the street and across the entire bridge. When you first walk past the street, it's hard to even notice that it's a bridge because it just looks like buildings.  Then when you walk past it, you can see that it's a bridge and the water beneath showcases the reflection beautifully.

Bath was one of the most romantic cities I have ever been to. The streets were basically empty and super quiet, except for the beautiful sound of the Abbey's bells chiming.

A short walk through Bath was the perfect way to start a romantic evening.  Our next stop was dinner at Sotto Sotto!

Adventure Always.
