Jun 21 The Burren ~ County Clare, Ireland

The Burren is an area in County Clare that is unlike any other area in Ireland. Just after you get used to seeing green fields and mountains all around you, you come across The Burren. It's a vast rocky area that looks like it's the terrain of another planet. We drove through The Burren on our way from The Cliffs of Moher further north. When we were there the weather was not cooperating very well - it was pouring on and off all day. We were able to make a couple of stops for long enough to catch some pictures, but other than that we were car-bound through this magnificent park. It was still a very cool place to drive through, even when you're trapped in the car on a dreary rainy day. It's so close to the Cliffs of Moher that it's definitely worth making the trip north to check out both of them on a day trip.

** Side note, before your trip to Ireland invest in a good solid umbrella. We were idiots and didn't bring one so we purchased some at a convenience store for €1. Needless to say they did not hack it when it came to the strong winds and rains of Ireland.
